The art of fire at the Swiss Museum of Ceramics and Glass.
At first sight, the Ariana Museum is an architectural marvel in a magnificent setting. The vaulted ceiling full of stars and the great hall’s audacious colonnades surprise the visitor to the sumptuous palace built at the end of the 19th century. With a collection of 25,000 items from Switzerland, Europe and the Middle and Far East, and a witness to twelve centuries of ceramic art from the Middle Ages to modern times, the Ariana is one of Europe’s great museums specialising in the arts of fire.
