Exhibition : Virginia and Edward Chow Donation
Chinese lacquer
In May and June, the Baur Foundation pays tribute to the Virginia and Edward Chow Donation of lacquerware with an exhibition on the museum's first floor. This collection of twelve Chinese lacquer pieces showcases the finest creations of artisans from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. These boxes, dishes, and other precious objects are richly decorated with engraved designs, or inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
The exhibition opens on April 29 with a lecture by Helen Loveday at 6:30 p.m.: Laques chinois des Ming (1368-1644) et des Qing (1644-1911) : la donation Chow (in French)
Open weekend on May 3 and 4.
