Women's Sports: Launch Evening "À elles l’honneur" and Screening

To kick off a year dedicated to women and sports, the City of Carouge invites you to the opening night at Cinéma Bio, featuring a screening of the film "L'ultime ascension" by Eliza Kubarska.

"À elles l’honneur" is the title under which the City of Carouge is highlighting women and sports this year. Taking advantage of the UEFA Women's Euro 2025 in Switzerland, a wide range of events is being organized to promote women's sports.

This rich program begins with an opening evening and the screening of "L'ultime ascension" (The Last Expedition) (Eliza Kubarska, 2024), in the presence of Stéphanie Lammar, Mayor of Carouge, and Sarah Marquis, National Geographic explorer.

The first film in the "Sports, Women, and Cinema" series, "The Last Expedition", tells the true story of a courageous woman ahead of her time. Wanda Rutkiewicz was the world's most famous mountaineer when she disappeared in 1992 in the Himalayas. Rumors suggest she might still be alive today.

Join us on Tuesday, March 25, starting at 6:30 PM (screening begins at 6:45 PM) at Cinéma Bio, Rue Saint-Joseph 47, 1227 Carouge.

Admission is free, but reservations are required on the Cinéma Bio website.

This series on women and sports will continue with many other screenings until autumn. But that's not all! Other events are also planned.
