VERA MORAIS «É APENAS UM POUCO TARDE» – TRONDHEIM JAZZ ORCHESTRA & OLE MORTEN VÅGAN – DJ MUCHA MUCHACHA
44th AMR JAZZ FESTIVAL
20H – VERA MORAIS «É APENAS UM POUCO TARDE»
Vera Morais presents new music written as part of a commission for the 14th edition of the Porta-Jazz Festival. Bringing together musicians from different musical backgrounds, Vera has developed a piece for sextet divided into two sections: winds and percussion. In search of a free, hybrid language, “é apenas um pouco tarde” (“it's a little late”) is an exercise in anti-rhetoric: a truly democratic creative process in which each individual voice is elevated by the other, yet open to deliberate contamination.

21H30 – TRONDHEIM JAZZ ORCHESTRA & OLE MORTEN VÅGAN
This adventurous and moving journey highlights the global sonic vision of double bassist Ole Morten Vågan and the TJO, embracing the heritage of jazz big bands but twisting it with prog-rock and Zappa-style fusion, leaving out the typical Nordic melancholy, and, of course, sprinkling it with generous doses of apocalyptic humor.

19H-2H – DJ MUCHA MUCHACHA AKA SMORFIA at lieu central
// All the festival's concerts are broadcast live, every evening at the “lieu central”, then the DJs will keep us rocking until 2am //
There are certain places where time seems to flow differently. Le lieu jaune, successeur du lieu noir, is one such place. Armed with his incredible record collection (and his passion for Italian gastronomy), John Menoud takes you on a musical expedition across the globe. When your watch reminds you it's time to go home, you'll want to ignore it.
