Passionate about regional products and specialities, Georges Magnin has always wanted to open his own restaurant.

Former post office manager, then director of the association of Fribourg regional products, he was also mayor of Grandvillard. For a while, he moved to manage a fishery in Madagascar.

In 2005, his dream came true: not in his native Gruyère, but in Chêne-Bougeries, Geneva. Le Gruyérien was born. His success encourged him to open other restaurants, first near the central Geneva train station and then in Plainpalais. His strength being the best network of regional and independent producers, supporting him in maintaining the highest standards of products for the restaurants to serve you. Le Gruyérien has built a strong reputation being one of the best fondues, not only locally but also abroad. Indeed, his patented « LittleSwissTM » has been franchised in many countries where he also arranges events to promote his region.

His passion has also lead him to innovation with his exclusive Lumberjack fondue and his patented « Made by Georges MagninTM » forks.
