Maestro Nikolay Khozyainov, ‘‘virtuoso and peace warrior’’, returns to Victoria Hall on May 9, 2025, to perform Debussy’s Second Book of Preludes and Chopin’s beloved Four Ballades.

Pianist, composer, and conductor Nikolay Khozyainov is one of the most remarkable musicians. His poetic musicality and breathtaking technique have captivated audiences around the world.

By the age of 6, Khozyainov had already made his debut with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. At the age of 7, he debuted in Munich and Frankfurt, at 9 at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, at 16 in the United States, and at 17 at the United Nations.

Since then, he has been performing on the world’s greatest stages, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, Wigmore Hall in London, the Louvre and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Sydney Opera House, the Tonhalle in Zurich, Palazzo Quirinale in Rome, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Victoria Hall in Geneva, the United Nations, and many others.

Khozyainov performs with the London Philharmonia Orchestra, La Scala Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, among many others.

He is a graduate of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he was awarded the gold medal as pianist and conductor.
He holds an advanced diploma from the Hannover Hochschule für Music in Germany.

Nikolay Khozyainov has been honored by numerous heads of state. He was knighted as Knight Commander by the Spanish Royal Family in 2022. Khozyainov was decorated by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan at his concert at Suntory Hall in Tokyo.

In 2022, the United Nations commissioned Nikolay Khozyainov to compose a piece for Peace. Nikolay gave the world premiere of Petals of Peace at his Concert for Peace at the United Nations Human Rights Hall in November 2022, followed by the American premiere in October 2023 at the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco (where the UN Charter was signed). Nikolay Khozyainov awarded with the Gold Medal of Peace.
Nikolay Khozyainov is the founder, music director and chief conductor of the Peace Philharmonic Orchestra, an orchestra based in Geneva.
Khozyainov speaks 11 languages.
His music is published by Muse Press in Tokyo, Japan.
